Marion Arntzen contributes to Winter Pride with a presentation of her new book «Prinsesse Ivar», a book about children and gender identity. Some children are born with a body that does not correspond with their gender identity. Some have a boy’s body but feel like a girl, others have a girl’s body and feel like a boy. Many have an okay relationship with their bodies, but struggle with expectations other people have to them as boys or girls. This book is about these children, but also about the right of all children to express their gender as they wish to.

Marion Arntzen is an author, and together with her husband, Harald Sundby, she runs Stiftelsen Stensveen – trygg i eget uttrykk. Since 1996, they have run this low threshold offer for people who break with gender norms. Marion has written several books about gender and gender identity: «Mann er da kvinne» (2011), «De usynlige kjønn» (2013), «Så falt brikkene på plass! (2015), all three written with Kari Kahrs. «Prinsesse Ivar» was published in December 2018, and written together with Mona Renolen.

The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound. They reach unparalleled success, but in an unexpected turn Freddie, surrounded by darker influences, shuns Queen in pursuit of his solo career. Having suffered greatly without the collaboration of Queen, Freddie manages to reunite with his bandmates just in time for Live Aid. While bravely facing a recent AIDS diagnosis, Freddie leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. Queen cements a legacy that continues to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day.

12 noon – 3:30 pm: Sara Lund/ Claes Schmidt: «From Man to Human!»
Place: Lillehammer kino
, Kirkegata 69, 2609 Lillehammer, Norway
Language: Swedish
Tickets: NOK 150,- Link to buy tickets

The presentation «From Man to Human!» is an entertaining and interactive inspirational presentation about how the brain, norms and values control our lives and hinder us from thinking logically. Most of us know that diversity is positive, evolving and almost vital for a living society. None the less, we allow fear, heritage, and old ways of thinking to control our lives.

The presentation is a mix of humour and seriousness, fact and fiction, inspiration and experiences, with the main purpose of updating and expanding your way of thinking, and to inspire you to listen and to dare to reflect on yourself and others – without passing judgement. And just because this is about «equality» and «diversity», it does not need to be boring! On the contrary, there is a lot to laugh of when we let the norms control our logic, and there is a lot of laughter at Sara’s presentations.

About Sara Lund/ Claes Schmidt:
Claes Schmidt is an inspirer, entrepreneur, and former Marketing manager, who became known as Sara Lund all over Sweden when he chose to go public with his trans identity in 2003. Claes always does his presentations as «Sara». Partly because he is a transvestite, but also because it challenges the participant’s way of thinking. In 2011, SaraClaes received «Store Talarpriset», the great speakers prize of Sweden. And in 2012 he published the book «Från Man till Människa» (From Man to Human). SaraClaes is widely used in Swedish radio, TV and newspapers. In Norway, SaraClaes is mostly known from the award winning TV series «Jentene på Toten» (The girls from Toten), which aired on NRK 2 spring of 2010. And for 2018, SaraClaes is again nominated as Årets Talare 2018 in Sweden.

The book «Från Man till Människa» (only available in Swedish) can be bought after the presentation.

CLIMAX has been screened on many festivals, and has won many awards – the largest one being at the Cannes Film Festival, where it was awarded the Directors Fortnight prize.

In the mid 1990’s, 20 French urban dancers join together for a three-day rehearsal in a closed-down boarding school located at the heart of a forest to share one last dance. They then make one last party around a large sangria bowl. Quickly, the atmosphere becomes charged and a strange madness will seize them the whole night. If it seems obvious to them that they have been drugged, they neither know by whom nor why. And it’s soon impossible for them to resist to their neuroses and psychoses, numbed by the hypnotic and the increasing electric rhythm of the music. While some feel in paradise, most of them plunge into hell.

And it is some of these songs that Tom Hugo is going to share with us in Lillehammer. The performance was written by Andreas Koschinski Kvisgaard and chief playwright Carl Morten Amundsen at Det Norske Teatret (The Norwegian Theatre) in Oslo. Carl Morten Amundsen is also the director of the play. «Ingen er homo i 2. divisjon» («No one is gay in 2nd division») is about homosexuality and football, and asks questions about why we don’t have any openly gay football players in Norway, why no one comes out, and questions what it is that makes this so difficult.

Andreas is a trained actor from Westerdals Oslo ACT and Teaterhögskolan in Helsinki, Finland, and the play was made as his bachelor assignment in the Spring of 2018, with a wish for it to live on and be played for football clubs around Norway. A local football club, Raufoss Fotball, has supported this important play, in addition to FRI – The Norwegian Organization for Sexual and Gender Diversity, and the Norwegian Football Association.

Warm up to the neon party later this evening with the movie «Rafiki»!

«Good Kenyan girls become good Kenyan wives,» but Kena and Ziki long for something more. When love blossoms between them, the two girls will be forced to choose between happiness and safety. Despite the political rivalry between their families, the girls resist and remain close friends, supporting each other to pursue their dreams in a conservative society. Inspired by Monica Arac de Nyeko’s «Jambula Tree», which chronicles a story of two girls in love in Uganda, «Rafiki» challenges deep rooted cynicism about same sex relationships among actors, crew, friends, and family in Kenya.

In Kenya, it is still illegal to be gay. The movie was banned from its homeland, where same-sex relationships are punishable with up to 14 years in prison. In Europe, the movie was praised at the Cannes Film Festival 2018. Rafiki is the first Kenyan film to be invited to premiere at Cannes. As this is the first time Rafiki is shown in Lillehammer, we call it our Winter Pride premier.

Winner of the Grand Jury Prize Award at the Sundance Filmfestival 2018!

The year is 1993, and Cameron Post (Chloë Grace Moretz) looks the part of a perfect high school girl. But after she’s caught with another girl in the back seat of a car on prom night, Cameron is quickly shipped off to a conversion therapy center that treats teens «struggling with same-sex attraction.» At the facility, Cameron is subjected to outlandish discipline, dubious «de-gaying» methods, and earnest Christian rock songs – but this unusual setting also provides her with an unlikely gay community. For the first time, Cameron connects with peers, and she’s able to find her place among fellow outcasts.

Would you be interested in getting involved with Skeiv Ungdom, and to be part of the work to increase the activity level for queer youth in Hedmark and Oppland? Or are you interested in learning more about Skeiv Ungdom and what our local teams are up to? Then this is the place for you!

Sunday 24. February, during Winter Pride, Skeiv Ungdom invites you to the annual meeting for Skeiv Ungdom Oppland/Innlandet, and start up meeting for Skeiv Ungdom Hedmark! Both meetings take place at Plan B in Lillehammer.

Do you have any questions about the meeting, or do you want to be part of the local board? Contact Alex in Skeiv Ungdom at alex@skeivungdom.no

We start at 3:30 pm with a joint meeting for all, and decide if we wish to have one big local team covering all of Innlandet, or if we continue with Skeiv Ungdom Oppland, and create Skeiv Ungdom Hedmark. After that, we continue with the rest of the agenda, and decide who will sit on the new local boards, and what Skeiv Ungdom will focus on in the different areas this year.

Full agenda can be viewed here – note: In Norwegian only.

All paying members of Skeiv Ungdom have the right to vote at the meeting. You can become a member here.

Note: If you need a place to sleep in Lillehammer from Saturday to Sunday to attend the meeting, please contact Marthe in Skeiv Ungdom at marthe@skeivungdom.no
